Process of Consulate Attestation

The process of consulate attestation is similar to that of embassy attestation. They are

HRD/Notary/Chamber of Commerce Attestation:After the verification of university/board, educational documents are sent to the respective state HRDs for attestation. In case of personal documents (includes educational documents from private schools/college), documents are attested by the notary. Commercial documents are attested from the chamber of commerce.
MEA Attestation: After the initial state attestation, the documents are sent to the Ministry of External Affairs for attestation. If you are travelling to a country which is a member of the Hague convention, then you will require Apostille attestation. If not, you will require only normal MEA attestation.
Consulate/Embassy Attestation: After the MEA attestation, the documents are submitted to the embassy/consulate of the country that you are planning to travel in your home country. If you are travelling to a Hague member country, then you do not require consulate attestation.
